Code Advisory
The Code Advisory committee serves to exert a positive influence on the development and application of relevant codes and standards. OSEA does not have a standing Code Advisory committee, but the following OSEA members are active in NCSEA Code Advisory subcommittees:

Communications
The Communications committee serves to build public awareness of the structural engineering profession through public outreach with the general public, other professionals and students and educators. OSEA does not have a standing Communications committee, but the following OSEA members are active in NCSEA External Communications and Students & Educators subcommittees:

In addition, the Eastern Oklahoma chapter has a committee that works with the Tulsa Regional Stem Alliance and Engineering Alliance for the Arts (EAA) to teach structural engineering in local high schools. The chair is:

Continuing Education
OSEA develops and presents educational programs for structural engineers. This typically consists of a Fall Webinar series and a Spring Conference. The Spring Conference is held in Stillwater. We also have monthly local meetings in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The effort is chaired in alternate years by the Central and Eastern chapter presidents with contributions from the board of directors.

Structural Engineering Emergency Response (SEER)
The SEER committee promotes involvement in expeditious post-disaster recovery of communities through building safety evaluations. Several OSEA members have been trained for disaster response by CalOES. The following OSEA serves as the chair and is also an active member of the NCSEA SEER committee:

Structural Engineering Engagement and Equity (SE3)
The SE3 committee’s mission is to study and promote engagement and equity in the structural engineering profession. OSEA does not have a standing Structural Engineering Engagement and Equity committee, but the following OSEA member is active in NCSEA SE3 committee:

Structural Licensure
The Structural Licensure committee’s goal is adoption of consistent licensing laws and rules in the interest of public safety, especially those related to structural engineering. Oklahoma has a partial practice act for structural licensure passed, but OSEA no longer has a standing committee. The two OSEA members who were instrumental in getting the current legist are also co-chairs of the NCSEA Structural Licensure committee.

Young Member Group
The Young Member committee serves to transition students and young engineers into successful structural engineers and future leaders of the structural engineering profession. The current chairs of the Young Member committee are:
